Operators Rules
Who are channel Operators? what are their activity?
Channel operator is just an user like you. If you see an @ sign before someone's nick,
it means that person has OP status. The operator can remove a user from the channel for
flooding or cursing. Operators can't kick out anyone for their personal reason.
All operator's activities are being recorded by the system 24 hours a day.
How to become Channel operator?
We do not accept any request to become OP. Please don't ask us to make you OP. Our admin picks people from the chat and make them OP when they are qualified for it. OP status is not a symbol of power, it's a volunteer job to keep peace in the chat and help the chatroom to grow. We have a lot of users in the chat. We can't make everyone OP because we don't need that many OP's. Therefore, we only pick a limited number of OP's.
Here are some examples of what type of users we select for OP:
1)The user must be chatting here for long time.
2)Friendly and helpful to other users
3)Chats a lot on the main rooms
4)Carries a descent conversation and never harasses other users.
What are their rules?
PLS Note : These
rules are not to question your authority & performance, these are
rather to enhance every ones performance & to cater for Users & Ops
(1) Please don't abuse OP power.
(2) Please don't kick or ban anyone for any personal reason.
(3) Before you kick anyone please warn him or her in the main
channel and in private message. If they don't listen to you then
kick them.
(4) After kicking a user three times and he/she keep doing the same
thing then ban them.
(5) Remember that this channel gives the highest priority of freedom
of speech. So, if someone says anything bad about op or the channel,
don't kick him or her just because you don't agree with him or her.
(6) If you are upset on a user and he/she keeps harassing you in
modest way, don't kick him or her. If you can't control your anger
then leave the channel and come back later. Please try to avoid any
confrontation & flare up a fight.
(7) Many Channels in the net don't allow cloning but our channel is
a very small channel. So please don't kick anyone for cloning at
this moment.
(8) We have seen many OP put +q ( quiet ) mode to many users just
because they talk too much. Remember this channel is for chatting so
let them chat. Until a user uses profanity.
(9) Please Don't give manual OP to anyone.
(10) Without BDCHAT
permission please do not use any other script. (Reason we don't like
Ops to use other Mirc script. Some Scripts are Malicious & for War
purposes & there r many extra remotes which you might not be aware
of & can make a mess)
(11) Many OP we have come to channel and don't pay any attention to
the channel. They are very busy chatting in private. But remember
that you are OP so you watch over the channel.
(12) Sometimes OP's don't kick bad users because they might fight
with the OP. You all have back up like SOPs or IRCops & Admins. If
you are afraid of kicking or banning users when needed, then you
should request to DEOP yourself and let others give a chance to be
OP.
(13) We will not force to anyone to come to channel every free hour
you have, but please try to come to channel as often as you can. We
all know you have others things to do, but if you have time at least
come 2-3 times a week spend few times with others.
(14) Many Ops don't talk in the main channel. When the channel is
busy it's OK if you don't talk in open channel, but when the channel
is slow, and no one is talking, try to bring some subject and make
others involve in the chatting.
(15) We don't allow users to fight with other using dirty words, but
if someone just says simple "F" word without harassing others, then
don't kick just for that. For example if someone says "I'm fucked
up, I got a fucking problem" this kind of sentences do no bother us.
As long as it's not disrupting the peace in the chat, we don't kick
them
(16) Ops don't have the authority to kick another op. If you think
another op did some thing wrong then report it to Admin or SOP, and
specify the exact time and cause.
(17) Please note that if you have problem with another OP for what
ever reason wait for a Admin or a SOP & please do not bring the
fight or matter in the main channel & discuss in front of the users
(18) For IRCop access OPs / Mods : Please note that your Oper access
is not to be abused ! such as killing or klining another OP &
putting a Active OP on Server Shun list , your IRCop access is given
to do /whois nick to get a Users IP address : Pleas try not to kill
& kline unless its needed.
(19) Sharing Nick Password is not acceptable. It is your
responsibility to protect your nick pass. You are given OP or
Moderator & it belongs to u , not your brother or sister or room
mate.
(20) OP must be responsible to learn all the commands of the server.
It is your responsibility to know all the command. If you need help
with irc command ask a Sop or Admin. All our Sops and Admins are
very helpful. If needed, we will open online classes for Ops.
(21) For IRCops : IRCop is not a previlege, honour, fashion, status
ect it is rather responsibility assigned to you.
